Nepal, August 27, 2026(ANI): In a latest assessment in the wake of Nepal’s ‘deadly’ flash flood, China's Ministry of Water Resources has sounded alarm. As per ‘Global Times’ report citing CCTV, significant barrier lake has formed in Nepal, holding 2 mn cubic meters of water & already overflowing. Another 3 million cubic meters expected to enter the lake within three days, sharply raising the risk of a breach. China’s Ministry of Water Resources warned of high breach risks near the Chhochen Khola & Purepu Tsangpo river confluence. Nepal on Aug 27 has been warned of the risk of another major flood in the Bhotekoshi River. The warning comes after a lake formed upstream due to an obstruction blocking the upper Lhende River. Nepal’s NDRRMA urged residents and concerned agencies downstream to exercise necessary caution and remain highly vigilant. Chinese authorities mobilized rescue forces after a devastating Nepal-origin mudslide struck Gyirong Port. PLA troops, emergency responders & engineering teams rushed to disaster zones, battling difficult terrain, heavy rainfall and secondary disaster risks. The death toll has risen to 359, with bodies recovered from 8 districts on Aug 27, ’The Kathmandu Post’ reported citing Police.
